American Idol is Fun

“I’m living the American Dream”, shouted Taylor Hicks when he won American Idol’s top spot last night.  What I like about the show is that it gives talented young people an opportunity to realize their dreams.  And that’s what America has always been about; opportunity.  No guarantees, just opportunity. Global Warming Has Me Confused

Two weeks ago THE WEEK magazine (very hard to pin down politically yet probably leaning a little liberal) ran an article saying that everybody now agrees we are doomed by global warming.  The following week, oops, no we’re not.  This issue (May 5) focuses on Gore’s mission to save the planet; except that climatologists really don’t agree as to whether there is a problem or not.
