There is a blogsite that is a real eye-opener on the emerging church. Called Open Source Theology, a man named Andrew Perriman sets himself up as somewhat authoritative on what emergents really believe. I’m not saying that he shouldn’t; although one of the tenets of emergers is that there is no authority. Anyway, there is a very interesting blog today where he defines what emergers believe. It is worth the effort to slog through the theological jargon to get to the heart of the matter and his subsequent conversation with a guy named Jonathan Leeman. “It’s the money! Twenty-five billion dollars in government funding has been spent since 1990 to research global warming. If scientists and researchers were coming out releasing reports that global warming has little to do with man, and most to do with just how the planet works, there wouldn’t be as much money to study it” — Harvard astrophysicist Sallie Baliunas telling John Stossel of ABC News why a more balanced view of global warming isn’t heard from the scientific community.

What study will they do next? A new alarm was sounded today by the media stating that global warming, caused by man’s use of fossil fuels, would cause most of California’s wine grape growing region to be too hot to protect the sugar in the grapes.
